Institute of Trade Development (ITD) is a trade promotion organization incorporated in Kenya. The main goal since establishment in 1994 has been to promote trade in Kenya and within Eastern and Southern Africa sub-region ITD achieves its goals through training, trade policy studies, market research, marketing, trade information dissemination and capacity building using models in business management systems.
ITD providess training and consultancy services to organizations in Kenya and the Region of Eastern and Southern Africa. The main objectives is to assist organizations grow and develop through management improvement, information dissemination and also competency development.
ITD provides experiential learning through benchmarking programmes which help organisations learn from other institutions from outside their countries. Since 2004 to date, Institute of Trade Development has organized several benchmarking programmes to Egypt and Israel.
Since establishment, Institute of Trade Development has made significant contribution in the area of trade development in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) region.
Its role has expanded substantially as a result of increased client demand by countries of the region. Since 1993, a number of organizations from various countries have participated in the programmes offered by ITD.
